SEA OF PRISM

(COD'S LULLABY)

PIECE FOR ENSEMBLE, LIVE ELECTRONICS AND LIGHTS

In November of 2019, Ryterski started collaboration with Hashtag Ensemble - he and Ania Karpowicz (Hashtag Ensemble's flutist) started to talk about possible piece for the ensemble, with Pawilon of Sinfonia Varsovia as the target premiere place. Ryterski decided to write about Baltic Sea, which is very important part of his life and is slowly degrading by pollution and human activity. That is how the concept for Sea of Prism emerged.

Sea of Prism refers to the chemical pollution of the Baltic Sea - in the depths of the sea there are plenty of sunken container and military ships, with dangerous chemicals or bombs from the time of the Second World War. Frequent leaks of these chemicals and destroying effects of detonating the bombs cause enormous damage to the sealife, which is slowly dying. And even though it is tragic, the politicians are quiet and do nothing to rescue the Baltic Sea. Thus Sea of Prism is  a threnody - a lullaby for all the hidden sealife out there.
