Modlitwa pod cudowną mozaiką pod wezwaniem samej siebie (Prayer Under the Miraculous Mosaic Dedicated to Herself) is an intimate scenic essay about religiosity, identity, gender, sexuality and the need for freedom. Created by Aga Błaszczak, Malwina Czekaj and Rafał Ryterski, the performance premiered at the PESTKA [RE]zydencje festival in Jelenia Góra in 2024, where it received both the Main Prize and the Audience Award.

The starting point is a conversation with God - “probably existing” - but also with the speaking person themself, their memory, body and experience. The three artists meet on stage to look, with tenderness, humour and directness, at the ways religious upbringing shapes one’s experience of identity. The performance does not seek easy answers; it opens a space for shared reflection and challenges social and religious conventions.

Ryterski’s music co-creates the dramatic structure of the work. Original theatre music meets transformations of recognisable pop and sacred songs, shifting their meanings and building the performance’s emotional landscape.
